BELL’S TRAILER HITCHES: OUR STORY
Robert Bell opened Bell’s Trailer Hitches back in 1917, when it was known predominantly for stabling horses and repairing early automobiles. As time went on, the second and third generations of the family expanded the business. They still ran the garage but also started hauling necessities like gas, heating oil, diesel, and water to various homes and businesses in Headingley.
Today the company is run by 5th generation Bells, Jack and Craig, who took over the business in 2012 from their father, Ken. The boys grew up helping their dad around the shop, and Ken likes to remind them that back in the day, he “got paid $5 a week an worked six days a week” and that “if you had ten pieces of steel, you could make your
inventory!”.
Bell’s Trailer Hitches is one of only a few businesses in Manitoba that specialize in installing and repairing trailer hitches. We have a wide variety of in-stock inventory, and if you need a part we don’t have, we will find a way to get it to you quickly and at a fair price. We don’t want to brag, but the biggest hitch manufacturers in the world know us
by name!
In fall of 2022 ground was broke on Bell's new home at 180 Bridge road in Headingley. Our new 5600 square foot building will allow us offer more products, do addition services and provide a better customer service. If you haven't visited us in awhile stop on by to check out our new showroom or just to have a chat. We are exciting for this new expansion and chapter in our story, and can't wait to share it with you.

Meet the bell's

Jack Bell
I am the head technician and part owner at Bell’s Hitches and Trailers. I joined the family business in 1995, right after I graduated high school. I take great pride in helping our customers make informed decisions, and I do my best to make their towing experience as safe and efficient as possible. My brother Craig and I are constantly looking for innovative products and services that we can bring to the marketplace. Outside of work, I’m an avid camper and hiker. I enjoy fishing, biking, and anything to do with the outdoors. I love that I get to bring my passion for outdoor recreation to work every day. I use this enthusiasm to help others discover their love for the great outdoors. I am extremely proud to be a 5th generation owner/operator, and I look forward to the future of Bell’s Hitches. |

When not at work, you will find me, my wife and my young daughter enjoying our province’s many parks, lakes, and green spaces. We love our Friendly Manitoba and all it has to offer.
